Marketing Coordinator

Interviews will commence on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 and remain open until filled.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Create and manage quarterly and monthly communication plans.
  • In collaboration with subject matter experts, create and edit planned content including social media, blogs, newsletters, case studies.
  • With technical staff, edit technical documents such as toolkits and research reports.
  • Manage the website events calendar, actively seeking input from partner agencies for inclusion and to minimize scheduling conflicts.
  • Proactive and reactive media management, including press releases, coordination of interviews, monitoring media, and identifying opportunities to submit articles.
  • Actively manage sharing of relevant content from the Province of Manitoba, the Government of Canada, and other economic development agencies.
  • Develop and execute event plans, timelines, budgets, evaluations, and post-event records for events (conferences, webinars, workshops, consultations, etc.)
  • Design and coordinate print materials such as invitations, reports, toolkits, newsletters, presentations, etc.
  • Manage event and communications budgets and track expenses.

Education and Experience

  • 2+ years marketing & communications experience.
  • Post-Secondary degree or diploma in marketing, communications, or a related field. Comparable experience of 5+ years in a communications role may be considered.
  • Strong experience and attention to detail in writing, proofing, and editing material.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing for different business audiences.
  • Experience in social media management.
  • Experience with graphic design basics, software, and content management systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with responsiveness, adaptability, and political acumen.
  • Basic project management, administration, and budget management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, MS Teams, and SharePoint as an asset.
  • Ability to travel within the province with a valid class 5 driver's license.
  • Ability to speak and write French would be considered an asset, but not required.

Compensation and Benefits

  • 55,000+ per year depending on qualifications and experience.
