Marketing and Communications Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop communications strategies, and collaborate with staff on content for RMED’s website, social media platforms, print materials, video, audio, live and recorded events.
- Provide oversite to RMED’s brand and voice by providing graphic design and final editing to documents such as presentations, policy documents, speeches, submitted articles, etc.
- Remain up to date on emerging trends in the sector to respond accordingly.
- Desktop publishing, short (less than 10 minute) video and audio editing, photo editing.
- Organizing industry events such as mixers, round tables, tours, missions, etc.
- Copy writing in collaboration with subject matter experts for content.
- Make recommendations related to software products and tools.
- In cooperation with other staff, develop visual means (graphs, charts, infographics) to represent information in communications.
- Balance multiple deadlines and prioritize the daily workload and work schedule.
You and Your Experience:
- 3 – 5 years marketing and communications experience.
- Post-Secondary degree or diploma with a focus in Public Relations, Business Administration, Marketing, Creative Communications, or a Communications related field.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with responsiveness and adaptability.
- Strong experience in writing, proofing, and editing material with an attention to detail.
- Experience in working with senior executives and leaders with the ability to present proposals and plans.
- Working knowledge of editorial style standards.
- Basic project management, administration, and budget management skills.
- Experience in social media management.
- Highly proficient desktop publishing, proficient photo, and video editing.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
- Proficiency with MS Teams and SharePoint as asset.
- Ability to travel within the province with a valid class 5 driver’s license.
- Ability to speak and write French is an asset.

Economic Development Officer

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance project goals.
- Identify opportunities, create strategic plans, and build consensus for regional economic strategies.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge of economic development approaches, programs, and services and provide regions, communities, and other stakeholders assistance in assessing appropriateness of programming and accessing appropriate ones.
- Consult with industry organizations to gain and share information concerning their growth, competitiveness strategies, etc.
- Lead and participate in the planning and development of program and alternatives
- Provide recommendations on the efficiency of various proposed and existing policies, programs, and services as well as examining potential alternatives.
- Develop and review reports, technical papers, feasibility studies, strategies etc.
You and Your Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of economic development or site selection experience with industry or government.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) related to economics, strategic planning, rural development, and/or public policy development.
- Specialization in economics, business administration, commerce, infrastructure, logistics, or workforce and human capital development.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely.
- Demonstrated experience in managing multiple complex projects.
- Considered a provincial specialist with a focus on one or more economic development pillars.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365.

Policy Analyst

Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise effectively with government(s), economic development agencies, and industry.
- Identify information and data requirements and recommend appropriate actions.
- Conduct primary research or manage contracts with research partners/vendors.
- Analyze, manipulate, and develop statistical data.
- Incorporate scientific, program, policy, economic and political perspectives into analysis.
- Prepare reports and undertake special projects including projects that support communities and regions data analysis needs.
- Support the project and program proposals and reporting through analysis that illustrates the needs that will be addressed and the ongoing results.
- Maintain documentation on RMED data management policies and practices, standardized formatting, and job aids.
- Maintain a schedule of publication dates, sources, and formats.
- Make recommendations related to statistical software products and tools.
- Serves as the steward of the corporation’s market data and corporations’ authority on economic development statistics.
You and Your Experience:
- Post-secondary education in a field related to data analysis, economics, statistics, commerce/business, or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience in statistical analysis.
- Ability to collect and present information to clients and colleagues in a clear, organized, and professional manner.
- Demonstrated skills in managing projects.
- Understand methods used by external agencies such as Manitoba Bureau of Statistics and Statistics Canada in their collection, analysis, and delivery of information.
- Understanding of and/or experience in the policy development process.
- Advanced Microsoft Office 365 skills.
- Ability to travel within the province with a valid class 5 driver’s license.
- Experience related to business and government is an asset.
- Master’s degree or extensive experience in Economic Development analysis is an asset.
- GIS experience is an asset.
